A note in regards to our class behavior and effort

Dear Parents,

I have appreciated your support and help so far this year. This email is reaching out to you to ask for more support from you in regards to our class.  The class has worked very hard so far this year and I am proud of them for their efforts and accomplishments. However, it seems as a group we are slipping in our pride and effort in our classwork.

Would you please partner with me and reiterate with your child what I have shared with them in class a bunch these past two weeks.

1) It is not a race you don't have to be the first one done.

2) SLOW down and read all the directions many silly mistakes are being made from not reading and following directions.

3) I know they are smart but I want to see them be brilliant and work harder than ever.

4) The importance of doing your best and how doing your best now will help you in the future.

5) Listening during instruction time (this is the big one that has hit everyone hard the last couple days).

I love teaching your children and we are learning great things, however, I want to see and help them be motivated and excited about learning. They need to put in some more effort and be more attentive in class.  I never expect them to be perfect, but I do expect them to at least try and give their best effort.

The language homework from last night will not be put into the grade book. Those couple students that did well on the homework will receive some extra credit. I will work with them in class tomorrow to redo those pages (or have a worksheet similar with areas missed as a whole).

If you have any questions or concerns please let me know.

Blessings and Thank you for your support with this,

Christina
